Our unique theatre Summer School offers the most exciting and fun-filled theatrical event in the UK. The West End Stage Summer School takes place over one week at the renowned Guildhall School of Music & Drama, past students of which include Daniel Craig and Orlando Bloom! 

Under the guidance of expert teachers, all of whom are West End stars, students will be put through their paces in all aspects of performing, specialising in acting, dancing and singing. The week ends with a fully rehearsed West End performance in front of friends, family and industry professionals onstage at Her Majesty’s Theatre, home to Phantom of the Opera.

Whether you have bags of experience, or want to discover your hidden talents, the week will give you the opportunity to develop amazing friendships and to experience the reality of being a professional West End performer!

Perform on stage at a world famous West End theatre, being taught by West End stars and industry professionals. Enjoy an exclusive trip to see one of the latest West End shows and meet some of the cast, held at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, one of the UK’s premier drama schools. Get an opportunity to be seen by casting directors, agents, and directors. We offer individual attention in small class sizes to make the most of every moment. The Summer School is held at the world-renowned Guildhall School of Music and Drama, past students of which include Ewan McGregor, Daniel Craig and Orlando Bloom! The drama school provides the perfect professional environment in which our students can learn and be creative. Guildhall is located near the Barbican Centre on Silk Street in the very centre of London, just minutes from the major theatres of the West End. Its facilities include 10 purpose built dance studios, 8 rehearsal rooms, 3 theatres, cafes and social areas. All these facility are for the exclusive use of West End Stage during the theatre Summer School week.

For each student the highlight of the theatre summer school is the opportunity to perform on stage at Her Majesty’s Theatre the world-famous home of Phantom of the Opera. This gives all students the chance to become professional actors for the day and to fulfill a dream of performing on a West End stage! The performance is one hour long and incorporates the very best of musical theatre.

Dates: 5 – 11 August 2024; 12 – 18 August 2024; 19 – 25 August 2024

Age Matters
It’s important that all our students feel comfortable and at ease with their surroundings, therefore all students are divided into their respective age groups (8–11, 12–14, 15–17, 18–21), although all students are encouraged to mix and mingle during mealtimes.

Accommodation

For those students wishing to attend the Summer School, but who are unable to travel into central London on a daily basis, catered, secure and fully monitored accommodation is available at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s halls of residence — Sundial Court.

The accommodation package consists of seven night’s accommodation with full board, towels and bedding and all evening activities and entertainment. A designated chaperone and a supervised day trip around the sights and shops of central London. All student transport

Sundial Court is a secure gated accommodation facility in which students are chaperoned 24hrs a day and is located one minute walk away from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama.

Total price in 2024 for the accommodation package is £ 1,345 inclusive of Seven night’s accommodation plus a course place; Full board; All evening activities and entertainment; A designated chaperone; A supervised day trip around the sights and shops of central London; All student transport; Towels and bedding. Accommodation payment is due by the 1st June 2024.

Watch a West End Show: 
Each week students travel by coach into the heart of London’s Theatre land to catch a midweek matinee of a top west end show! After all the excitement of the performance, West End Stage students are given the unique opportunity to meet some of the cast and to ask them questions about the show and the profession. 

Some of the shows that students have enjoyed in the past include: Billy Elliot, Legally Blonde, Hairspray, We Will Rock You, Wicked, Blood Brothers

Some of the stars students have met include: Sheridan Smith (Legally Blonde); Richard Fleeshman (Ghost); Marcus Lovett (Phantom of the Opera); Brian Conley (Hairspray); Genevieve Lemon (Billy Elliot); Carrie Hope Fletcher (Les Mis)

Master Classes
Alongside rehearsing for their West End Performance, all our students will take part in three exclusive Master Classes. These are specially organised workshops with current West End performers, who teach routines, songs and scenes from an actual West End show. This is a unique chance to see how a real West End star is put through their paces! As well as learning all the latest choreography and tunes, students will have the opportunity to ask questions about the show and receive top tips about the wider industry direct from the best in the business.

To secure a place on the course you can either pay a deposit of £ 250 and the remainder by 1st July 2024 or pay the full balance in one go.
