International House London language school, London

Locations

More than 8,000 students from over 150 different nationalities choose International House London language school each year. Our students come from different backgrounds, have different reasons for learning and different learning needs. They choose to study at IH London for a variety of reasons: our 60 years of experience, our fantastic teaching staff, our central London location, our extensive social programme, our vibrant school with its first-class facilities.

Whatever their reason for choosing us they find our teaching approach focuses on their individual needs to help them achieve their goals. We’re proud of the vibrant, inclusive and multinational environment we offer at International House London. We recognise that people always learn more when they're enjoying themselves. Whether it’s in the classroom or out and about on one of our daily social and cultural activities, student enjoyment is at the heart of the learning experience we offer.

When you have some free time from your studies, coming to London is all about experiencing new things in a new city. Whether you enjoy visiting museums, eating out or listening to live music, London has something to offer you. London is home to more international students than any other city in the world. It is a friendly, welcoming city that is full of life. Whatever interests you have outside lessons, you will find London an exciting and inspiring experience.

London for culture

  • London has 200 museums, many of them free to visit
  • Our beautiful city also has 120 historic buildings, 150 theatres, 8,000 acres of park land, 33 sites of scientific interest, 37,000 listed buildings and four world heritage sites.

There are bars, clubs and pubs in every part of London to discover with your new friends. Every night of the week there is something different to choose from. Each day IH London's social programme has a different activity for you to try, with trips outside London at the weekend.

Our school has been built to meet the needs of our students and teachers. The building is light, airy and spacious. Classrooms are designed for small group learning with flexible seating, computer access and interactive whiteboards. The school has several dedicated areas for personal learning. Our student self-access computer area has digital ‘language lab’ facilities where you can practise speaking and listening. The learning resource library is well-stocked, has computer access and plenty of seating for private study.

If you need to read over your notes or relax and chat with friends there’s the less formal café area, where a selection of hot and cold food and drink is served, or there's the sky lounge on the fifth floor.

During the busy summer months we hold some classes in IH Bloomsbury, a five minute walk from the main school building.
