Colchester (UK) English Study Centre (CESC) English and Work Experience

English and work experience is a course designed to help young people and employees working in certain sectors where the use of English is important. These days it is becoming more and more important for people to be able to speak English well in the workplace. 

This course has two elements. In the mornings, the participants take a general English course designed to help them improve their communication skills in an international setting . In the afternoons or evenings, the participants do work experience as a volunteer in a local charity shop, NGO or similar organisation. This gives them a good chance to practise using English in a real working environment.

This course is for people who want to improve their English and practise using it in a ‘real’ working situation. They may be young people who want to work in offices, shops and other places where English is important, or they may be older people who want to improve so they can do their jobs better. As well as real English practice in the work placement, participants benefit from living with host families.

Course length: variable 20 Lessons a week; variable work placements. Minimum Level: A2 (CEFR)

Price: £ 270 price per week (more than 2 weeks at a discount) plus a one off £ 100 work placement fee
