Introduction to Fashion Design + English
Fashion design is not just about catwalk shows! This course will help understand how designers undertake the fashion design process and will introduce everyone to the principles of fashion design. This challenging course will help to learn how to express yourself confidently to produce one's very own design sample.
The course includes: Design research, Understanding color, and fabric awareness, Refining design ideas, How to build a fashion collection, Developing mood boards, Basic sewing skills, Cut out and make up a Design Sample.
During this course, there will be an opportunity to accompany the tutor to Saville Row. This is usually on a Saturday and is available to students who are able to attend. Previous visits have also included V&A exhibitions (Balenciaga), The London College of Fashion, London Fashion Week, fabric shops and tailors.
DATES: 4 May to 15 June 2020; DURATION: 6 weeks
SCHEDULE: General English: 9 AM to 12:15 PM from Monday to Friday (Edgware Academy Campus). Fashion Design classes: 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, Mondays (City of Westminster College Paddington Green Campus)
PRICE: 1,129 GBP + Registration fee 120 GBP
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Intermediate level of English (CEFR B1), No previous experience is required; Students who complete at least 80% of the course will receive a Certificate of Attendance both from Edgware Academy and Westminster College.

Buckswood played a combined Sussex Downs, Lewes and Plumpton side in three fifteen-minute thirds, with Buckswood winning one, drawing one and losing one.
The match was a credit to both sides' enthusiasm to throw the ball around and play positive rugby. Buckswood were the smaller team and used their pace and handling skills intelligently to create space and find gaps, whilst the opposition effectively employed their forwards to create holes.
